The trapway decides everything and nobody ever sees it. Its bore and the smoothness of its internal glaze determine whether a pan clears in one flush or three — which is why the passage is formed in the mould and glazed right through, never cut afterwards. The Lorna hides its trapway entirely behind a fully skirted flank: smooth ceramic from cistern to floor, no bulge, no ledge, no seam for dust. Its washdown pan clears by gravity and water volume rather than a primed siphon, which is the more reliable mechanism on modest gravity-fed pressure. Vitreous china, fired non-porous, glazed white.
